The main causes of Matt defects on ceramic cup glaze
1. Glaze has less flux, high melting point and insufficient firing temperature;
2. The glaze is too thin, or the glaze is not stirred evenly during glaze application;
3. When the glazed body is close to the porous body and utensils with strong water absorption, it is easy to affect the glaze surface of the glazed body;
4. If there is too much sulfur in the fuel, the burning sulfur dioxide gas and ash combine with the glaze to form sulfide, which improves the melting point of the glaze and promotes the matte of the glaze.
Measures to overcome the matte defect of ceramic cup glaze
1. Appropriately increase the concentration of glaze or glaze several times;
2. Appropriately increase the flux in the glaze, reduce the fire resistance, or appropriately increase the firing temperature;
3. The glazed body shall not be close to the unglazed or some ware with strong water absorption. The unglazed body and the glazed body cannot be fired in the same sagger.
