1. The characteristic color of bone china
The color of bone china is a major feature. Because the major porcelains on the market are all pure white, it can also be described as bluish white, while the color of bone china is slightly yellow. The bone meal content shows its yellowing degree. The higher the bone powder content of bone china, the more and more milky white the color is. On the contrary, the lower the bone powder content, the more obvious the yellow color.
2. The permeability of bone china
We know that the Linglong porcelain and eggshell porcelain made in our country are really thin, and of course they are transparent. Many people should have seen this kind of lampshade in a certain treasure, and they are very elegant. Permeable porcelain types, in addition to bone china, there are pearl porcelain, shell porcelain, white porcelain, etc., because only their thickness is thin to a certain extent, they will transmit light and have permeability. However, bone china is different from other types of porcelain. Its permeability is all-permeability (here bone china refers to high-quality bone china), and light transmission (white light) does not change its light color (the transmitted light is still white light). Its permeability becomes more and more transparent as the content of bone meal increases. The reason why it is transparent is also because of its raw material natural bone meal.
3. The sound of bone china characteristics
When bone china hits or touches it, its sound is similar to the bells of a temple, which is very clear and sweet, and the echo time is long. The sound of other well-fired porcelains is also relatively light and crisp, but the duration is short, so you can tap it by yourself without the feeling of bell ringing. As for the dull percussion sound, it is not recommended to purchase (not fully fired).
What needs to be mentioned is that high-quality bone china has very low water absorption, and generally only needs to be rinsed; it seems to have a special sense of cleanliness.
